What signatures does the PA 26-50 training attestation require?

Every completed training generates an attestation form in the DCP-prescribed format: agency name, employee name, programs, completion dates, and BOTH signatures — the employee's and an agency representative's. A form without both signatures isn't proof. Keep a copy in the personnel file.

Do PA 26-50 training hours have to be paid?

Yes. Public Act 26-50 requires not less than 8 PAID hours of initial training within 90 days of start date, from the DCP-approved program list. Unpaid training hours don't satisfy the law.

What training records must Connecticut home care agencies keep per employee?

Accepted Answer

Each employee must complete every program on the DCP list at least once every 2 calendar years — a rolling per-employee matrix of employees × programs × 2-year cycles.

What must agencies file with DCP annually under PA 26-50?

Accepted Answer

By January 1, 2027, and annually after, agencies must submit an attestation to DCP agreeing to adhere to the training requirements — a standing yearly compliance filing.

Can a new hire trained at another agency skip PA 26-50 initial training?

Accepted Answer

A new hire trained at another agency in the last 3 years can skip initial training — if they provide the attestation form from that training. The hiring agency must collect and retain it as proof.
